Appeal launched after elderly woman injured in Essington crash dies

A woman who was injured in a crash in Essington last month has died in hospital.

Officers were called to the collision involving two vehicles, a Fiat Panda and a Saab, on Warstone Road at around 4.45pm on November 19.

The occupants of the Fiat Panda, a man and woman aged in their 80s, were taken to New Cross hospital. The driver from the Saab was uninjured.

Sadly, the woman from the Fiat Panda died in hospital on November 28.

An investigation is now underway and officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands serious collision investigation unit are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or may have dash-cam footage, is asked to call 101 quoting incident 528 of November 19 or by emailing ciu@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk.
