Eight people cared for by paramedics after house fire

Eight people were treated by paramedics after a fire in Pattingham in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to a report of a house fire in Damson Park, Pattingham, at around 12.15am today.

Appliances attended from Codsall , Shropshire and West Midlands Fire Service.

They used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a main jet to tackle the fire.

The fire involved two properties and two cars. It is believed to have started accidentially.

Eight people were treated by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Spokeswoman Claire Brown said that three people from the property were treated for mild smoke inhalation while a number of neighbours were also assessed.

The service sent one ambulance, a paramedic officer and a hazardous area response team paramedic to the scene but none of the patients needed further treatment at hospital.
