Police cordon off house after man's body found

The body of a man was found in a house in a Staffordshire village today.

Emergency services were called to the home in Uttoxeter Road, in Hill Ridware, near Rugeley, at around 12.45pm to reports of a deceased man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and the death is not being treated as as suspicious.

A cordon in place around the house which is causing delays for drivers in the area.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his family are now being supported by specially trained officers.

"A police cordon is still in place, causing some disruption to traffic in the local area, so please avoid the area if you can.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner."
