The testing site will be located at University West car park in Lichfield on Tuesday, December 1, to Friday, December 4.

People from Lichfield and the surrounding area who have Covid-19 symptoms will be able to book an appointment at the test centre online or by calling NHS 119.

Councillor Liz Little, Lichfield District Council's cabinet member for economic development, said: "I am pleased we are once again able to support the county council and NHS by hosting a Mobile Testing Unit in Lichfield to enable more local people to be tested.

“Testing people who have symptoms is one of the main ways we can stop the spread of the virus, and I would urge anyone who has symptoms - which include a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, a loss or change in the sense of smell or taste - to book a test.

“I am sure car park users will again be understanding of the need to temporarily close the car park to make way for this important facility, and I hope it doesn’t cause too much disruption.”

The car park will be closed to vehicles while the test centre is in operation, however the bus stops and University East car park will remain open.

Further dates for the test centre opening will be announced in the coming weeks.
