Richard Winterton auctioneers has raised the money for the We Love Lichfield charity, which distributes grants to community organisations in the city.

Owner Richard Winterton presented We Love Lichfield patron Simon Price with his latest cheque of £824.68, taking the total raised to more than £6,000 over two years.

The company raised the money by inviting customers to donate their unsold lots to the charity.

Mr Winterton said We Love Lichfield was important to a huge number of charities in the area, and was delighted to be able to help.

"It’s very pleasing that all the work we put into evolving as a business through Covid has enabled us to continue to contribute to the fund," he said.

"I am proud that this latest donation means our tally is now smashing £6,000.”

Mr Price added that the charity had planned many fundraising activities before the outbreak of the coronavirus.

"We will continue to distribute money as usual during the autumn and donations like this from the team at Richard Winterton mean a lot, especially at this difficult time," he said.
