Delays on the A5 after a road sweeper overturns
Drivers are warned to expect delays on the A5 after a road sweeper overturned.
Emergency services were called shortly after 1.20pm today after reports of an overturned sweeper between Weeford and Wall.
A picture at the scene shows the white sweeper on its side on the popular route, fully blocking one lane and partially blocking another.
A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, who attended the incident alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service, Staffordshire Police and Highways, said: "We were called to reports of a sweeper overturned at the Weeford roundabout junction with the A38.
"The occupant was out before we got there so we just provided first aid prior to the ambulance arriving.
"There was fluid on the road so Highways was requested to come down.
"We left the incident with the police and the occupant with the ambulance service.
"The crew from Lichfield that attended left at 1.55."
