Man taken to hospital after scooter fall

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after falling off his moped in Hednesford.

The incident happened just before 1pm today near the junction of Pye Green Road and Rosehill.

The rider sustained injuries to his leg and was taken to County Hospital, Stafford.

One ambulance attended.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 12.53pm to the junction of Pye Green Road and Rosehill to reports that a patient , a man in his 50s, had fallen from his scooter.

"He was treated for leg injuries and taken to County Hospital."

Staffordshire Police was called but officers did not go out to the scene.
