Reception pupils at Landywood Primary School, in Great Wyrley, took part in the virtual wedding ceremony led by Deacon Sue Culver from a nearby church.

One pupil was picked as the bride, and another as the groom, with other students playing the part of best man, bridesmaids, and wedding guests.

The children made invitations, designed a wedding cake and also learnt about how weddings across the globe are held.

Sue said: "What a joy to be asked to ‘officiate’ at the reception wedding – the children really enjoyed it and the bride and groom, best man and bridesmaids looked wonderful. Children all participated well asking questions and offering their own experiences of weddings."

Headteacher Andrew Clewer added: “We are very proud of our Early Years provision. The children participate in a very broad and engaging curriculum that is supported by our experienced staff team.

"Our nursery and reception indoor and outdoor learning environments have received significant investment to further enhance the provision. Children’s development continue to go from strength to strength."
