Notes were left on vehicles within the Moss Road area of Chadsmoor – including "Thank you NHS" and a smiley face with "NHS" underneath.

The messages have been left on cars by vandals, officers from Cannock Police said.

They said: " Reports of cars being vandalised within the Moss Road area of Chadsmoor.

"Although we like to send messages of support to the NHS this is not appropriate. Investigations ongoing."
