The popular course will open between 8am and 6pm every day, by advanced booking only.

The club will operate a strict no turn up and play policy. A number of other changes have been made to enable the course to open under the current Government guidelines, including players maintaining a two metre social distance, two members of the same household per tee, ball stops in place, tee times every 10 minutes to prevent queues, no touching flags and no hire equipment available.

Councillor Christine Mitchell, Cannock Chase District Council's portfolio leader for culture and sport, said: "The course will be open from Saturday with strict measures in place, to ensure that we keep players and staff safe.

"We would ask that anyone wanting to play familiarises themselves with the changes implemented before they arrive and to note that if they have not booked in advance they will not be allowed to play.”

Tee times this weekend will be for season tickets only – while all other visitors will be able to play from Monday onwards. Members will be contacted directly.

A new booking system has gone live, to allow people to book their tee times in advance. Visit www.brsgolf.com/cannock/visitor_home.php.
