Matthew Yates and Samantha Bracknall tied the knot at St James The Great Church in Norton Canes today in a ceremony attended by friends and family.

While Samantha, 29, took a traditional approach and arrived in a white Austin Princess Vanden Plas limousine from Platinum Wedding Cars in Hednesford, her husband made his own eye catching entrance after being dropped off in a Scania V8 R730 donned a personalised 'MAT 1' licence plate.

The ride in the truck, which has a specialist paint job paying tribute to notorious highwayman Dick Turpin, was a gift from Mick Aldridge, a friend of the couple.

After a tight squeeze down the narrow cul de sac which houses the church, the happy couple pledged their love to one another in a ceremony led by Father Neil Hibbins.

Speaking before the ceremony Matthew, 23, who works in logistics, said: "I am feeling nervous but really excited.

"We have been together for three years now and have been looking forward to it for a while.

"It was definitely a fun experience being dropped off in the truck, there was a lot of looks and a lot of photos being taken but I dont mind, its my wedding day so I think I am allowed to do something a bit special."

The bride and groom will now go on a week long honeymoon in Rome.

Friend of the couple Mick Aldridge, who owns the van as part of his work for his company Mick Aldridge Transport, said: "They are a lovely couple and I am glad that I can contribute to their day.

"I work close to Matthew and we get on well and I know he loves his big, fast trucks.

"I did the same thing for my son's wedding and I think it is great, more people should try it, you make a great entrance."
