Pc Bond’s life was turned upside down when she was run over in September 2018 while on duty, as she tried to stop a disqualified driver from driving into runners at the Stafford 10K.

Although she does not expect to return to frontline duties, Claire did return to work at Staffordshire Police on April 1 this year – with a new role in the training department

On September 13, she embarked on a new fundraising challenge – by walking 10km over 10 days in aid of Mind.

Claire said: “It was great to be joined by Gareth, we had a good natter on the way round, putting the worlds to right.

“I was really grateful he had took time out of his busy schedule to celebrate me walking again unaided and trying to raise awareness and money for such an important charity as Mind.”
