Pupils from Christ Church CofE Primary School, in Lichfield, were treated to the special session by David Wilson Homes to mark National Storytelling Week.

The housebuilder is currently working on the Hallam Park development, in Limburg Avenue, which is near the school.

Headteacher Julie Pilmore said: “We were delighted when David Wilson Homes asked if we wanted to take part in a storytelling session at the school.

"It was a fun day for all the pupils involved and it was great to see them so engaged in Tom’s stories.”

The awareness week ran from February 1 to 8, with the aim of uniting children and adults in the pastime of storytelling.

The children learned how oral storytelling has allowed stories to survive and evolve over thousands of years and across continents.

Georgina Hall, Manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “It was a pleasure to have organised the storytelling event at Hallam Park for the awareness week and it was great to see how Tom’s stories captured the imaginations of the children."

Hallam Park currently has a selection of two, three, and four bedroom homes available from £250,000.
