Body found in search for missing Staffordshire man

A body has been found by police searching for a missing Staffordshire man.

Staffordshire Police officers had been searching for David Wright, who was last seen in Clifton Campville in Tamworth on Monday.

A drone was used to assist in the search, covering the riverbanks and fields around Clifton Campville.

The body of a man, believed to be 60-year-old David, was discovered in a field on Lullington Road, between Clifton Campville and Lullington.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson confirmed the body had been declared deceased at the scene and was taken to the Chapel of Rest in Tamworth.

They also confirmed Mr Wright's family had been informed.

Formal identification is due to take place in due course, with detectives stating they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

A report will be prepared for HM Coroner.
