Two cut free from crash near Lichfield

Firefighters had to cut two people from cars after a crash near Lichfield.

Four people were taken to hospital after the crash on Birmingham Road in Shenstone at about 12.50pm today.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "At 12.50pm we were called to Birmingham Road in Shenstone to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

"We sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer.

"There were four occupants in the two vehicles.

"All four were taken to Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham with injuries not believed to be serious."

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted saying: "Firefighters from Lichfield have cut free two casualties from vehicles following a two car collision involving four people in Shenstone.

"Both casualties were trapped by their injuries and have now been left in the care of the ambulance service. Crews are now making the area safe."
