Driver rescued after car crashes onto its side

A driver was hurt when his car crashed onto its side.

The man had to be cut out of the vehicle and was pulled out through the roof following the smash on Poppy Drive, West Bromwich, yesterday evening.

The incident happened around 6.30pm and did not involve any other vehicles.

The driver was cut out by firefighters.

Images on social media showed the white car resting on its side, with its roof having been sawed off by firefighters in order to rescue the driver.

West Midlands Fire Service said the driver was assessed at the scene by paramedics.
