A41 shut as high winds blow roof off building near The Hawthorns
The roof of a building has blown off in West Bromwich closing a main road in both directions.
Pieces of insulation have been blowing down the A41 outside The Hawthorns this afternoon and other parts of the roof are unstable, the fire service said.
The building is a 25m by 50m warehouse.
Firefighters have closed the road between Middlemore Road and Halfords Lane in both directions.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area as the road was set to be closed until at least 6pm, causing disruption throughout rush hour.
