It comes after a series of minor disorders in the area, where two people were arrested in possession of a number of weapons.

West Midlands Police will be implementing a section 60 in parts of the town centre until 7pm this evening.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, authorities officers to stop and search people without reasonable grounds but where there is a risk of violence or it is believed that weapons are being carried."
