Three arrested after gift sets worth £1,000 stolen from store in Wednesbury

A man and two women have been arrested after police received reports that £1,000 of items had been stolen from a store in Wednesbury.

West Midlands Police officers were made aware of reports that a man and two women had entered a store on Axletree Way, Wednesbury, at around 8.10pm yesterday (Monday) and taken gift sets from the shelves, before placing them into bags and running off.

After officers spotted three people nearby matching the descriptions given by staff, the stolen goods were recovered and arrests were made.

A man aged 36 and a 31-year-old woman have both been arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop.

Another woman, aged 32, was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of theft from a shop.

All three remain in custody as police enquiries continue.
