Eight fire crews from across the Black Country raced to Wednesbury Trading Estate, in Woden Road West, at around 9.50pm on Friday.

Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the air as nearby residents were urged to keep their windows shut.

Half of the ground floor of an industrial unit was engulfed by flames, the fire service said.

Breathing apparatus, along with two hose reels and two main jets were used by firefighters to help tackle the fire.

No injuries were reported, with the case of the blaze unknown.

Crews remained on the scene on Saturday damping down, before leaving at around 10.10am.
