Katie Thomas, aged 16, had her leg amputated after being diagnosed with cancer this year. She is still undergoing chemotherapy.

Last week, her mother Tracey Thomas and cousin Joanne Thomas successfully organised the event at Allens Sports Bar, New Hall Street in Tipton which raised £4,000.

Included in the event was a raffle and an auction that included a number of prizes from various members of the community who wanted to do their part to raise money.

Katie, an avid Harry Potter fan, always wanted to go The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Florida and the charity event was aimed at making that possible.

As a result of the generous donations Katie will not only get the opportunity to go but also to Disney World Florida.

The trip is set to happen after Katie undergoes her last cycle of chemotherapy treatments, potentially in 2019. After this Katie’s future plans are to start her studies at college.

Katie’s cousin, Joanne Thomas, thanked everyone who donated and took part with particular appreciation to Allen’s Sports Bar, who allowed the family to use the venue for free.

As well as this thanks are given to Morrison’s Supermarket, Blakemores in Willenhall, Bilston Market Stall Holders, Bilston Fish and Chip shop and Dudley Bowlplex for their part involved.

She also thanked Phil Arnold, Kim Perks Arnold and Chris Garland who helped organise the event.
