Pedigree French bulldog Dior was the only thing taken by the people who broke into Jodie Wallace's house in Austin Road, Bromsgrove, at 3am on Friday, March 5.

The raider fled in a waiting Citroën C3 which had a getaway driver.

Jodie, a 31-year-old mental health worker, said her and her five children are 'completely devastated'.

The family's desperate appeal has been shared nationwide more than 100,000 times.

Police are investigating the theft.

Jodie said: "A man broke in and grabbed the dog and ran to a silver Citroën C3 car which had been cloned. There were two of them, with a driver in the car.

“We got up straight away. My 12-year-old daughter saw her being taken. She said: ‘Mum, the dog’.

“She watched them take her.

“She’s heard the noise. Somehow they got through the front door. They knew I had the dog and only took her, nothing else.

"These people are known to me. I know she has been taken to Smethwick.

"I have been to the police who have said they are building a case, these people are known for a number of dog thefts.

"I have heard that she has been sold. I think she will have been sold to someone in the area, I don't think they would have gone far."

Dior is a pedigree French bulldog, lilac in colour. She has marks on her, a white lines on her ears. She was one-year-old on the day she was taken.

She is micro-chipped with a sophisticated chip.

Jodie added: "I just hope the person who has her does the right thing. Even if they just take her to the nearest vets, we just need her home and safe.

"This is destroying my children, it is heartbreaking and I am so drained, everyday I have been working non-stop trying to get her home.

"She’s my pride and joy and my child, my baby. My children are taking her blanket everywhere.

“I haven’t eaten. I haven’t slept. People can't believe how much weight I have lost.

"The children have been taking her puppy blanket with them everywhere, they are just completely broken.

"I am asking people to keep sharing this appeal, we need as many people to see this as possible.

"A reward for the safe return of Dior will be given."

A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said: “We were called at 4am on Friday, March 5, to reports a French Bulldog was stolen from a property on Austin Road in Bromsgrove.

“Officers attended and carried out a search of the area. Unfortunately the dog is still missing and the investigation is still ongoing.
