A large-scale investigation was launched after the man's body was discovered in George Avenue, Blackheath, in the early hours of Sunday.

The victim had been found by a member of the public opposite Blackheath Coronation Social Club with 'injuries'

But several neighbours said they had not heard anything to suggest there was an attack or altercation in the street.

Officers have now confirmed they are no longer treating the incident as suspicious.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We are no longer treating the man’s death as suspicious.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner. His family is being supported at this difficult time."
