Teenage boy, 13, arrested and samurai sword seized in Rowley Regis

Police have arrested a 13-year-old boy and seized a samurai sword after spotting someone acting suspiciously at 3am.

A 13-year-old was arrested and a samurai sword seized by police.

Officers were on a routine patrol in Thorne Road, Rowley Regis, when they saw the individual "acting suspiciously" on Friday morning.

Following a short foot chase, he was detained by officers and the weapon was recovered.

The teenager has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and is now in custody for questioning.
