It is one of a number of similar incidents reported in the Black Country in recent weeks.

The sixth form student reported that an Asian male had followed her from the West Bromwich bus station to Holly Lodge High School in Smethwick on Monday morning.

She said the man approached her and gave her his number.

An alert appeared on the website of a different school, Wednesbury-based Wood Green Academy.

It said: "A sixth form student has reported that she has been 'stalked' by a Asian male, in his 40s.

"The man has been following her from the West Bromwich bus station to school and at 8.30am the man approached her and gave her his phone number to contact him.

"The police have been notified."

The school added another two Year 12 students were approached on Wednesbury Road in Pleck last month, and asked if they were "legal".

The warning said: "Two Year 12 girls were walking home on Monday along Wednesbury Road in Pleck at about 1pm and a car pulled up. It was black and there was an Asian man in it with a black man.

"The Asian man asked if they knew of anywhere to eat around there any Asian food. They said Karma.

"He kept asking the same thing at least five times which they interpreted as him wanting them to get closer to the car. He then asked if they were legal and said oh you must be as you have ID badges.

"He asked if they were in a relationship and asked for their phone numbers. He said they could Whatsapp.

"They started to walk away and he kept shouting for them to come back."

West Midlands Police has been asked to comment on the incidents.
