The biker was involved in a crash with a car on the busy Bristol Road in Birmingham, near the city centre, around 3.45am this morning.

Fortunately, the victim was not said to be seriously injured in the horror crash.

The force of the collision caused extensive damage to the front of the car and smashed the windscreen.

The road was closed off while emergency services dealt with the incident and cleared the wreckage. West Midlands Police said no one was arrested.

Chief Inspector Jack Hadley tweeted from the scene of the accident.

He posted: "This is why wearing a decent helmet is essential.

"Better to have a scratch on your helmet rather than your head!"
