Woman critically injured in Stourbridge Road crash

A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after a three-car crash near Stourbridge.

A one-mile stretch of the A450 Stourbridge Road was shut for several hours as a result of the collision, which happened in between Blakedown and Hagley at around 1pm on Thursday.

The crash involved a grey Smart Car, a red Jaguar and a black Mercedes-Benz van near the junction with Broome Lane.

The seriously-injured woman, aged in her 60s, was driving the Smart Car.

The male driver of the Jaguar, aged in his late 40s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries while the van driver, a man in his 30s, was uninjured.

West Mercia Police shut the road between Hackmans Gate and Cross Keys while emergency services dealt with the incident and an investigation is now underway.

A police spokesman said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any dash-cam footage of the incident."

Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 276s of December 13.
