1920s bike catalogue takes retiring Dudley toy-shop owner on ride down memory lane
Dan Price points proudly to the dropped handlebars of the 1928 Sedgley Beacon Gents' Racer.
"That was one of the first racing cycles to be introduced to the British market," he says.
On another page, he points to a more sedate looking 'roadster' bike.
"I remember seeing one of those, the churchwarden at All Saints' Church, I think his name was Edgar Perks, he used to cycle to church on one. I remember seeing him leave it outside," adds Dan, who lives near Claverley.
The 1928 bike catalogue is one of Dan's most prized possessions, a reminder of the role his family business played in British cycle history.
