Sedgley family celebrates arrival of fifth generation female

A family from Sedgley has been celebrating the latest arrival to their family.

Claire Beech, aged 52, Charlotte Beech, aged 29, Brenda Clifford, aged 101 holding Daisy Smith, aged three weeks, and Diane Morgan, aged 74

The birth of Daisy Rae Smith, now three weeks old, means the family now has five generations of women.

Diane Morgan, 74, welcomed all generations of women into her home in Sedgley to mark the occasion.

Brenda Clifford, is the oldest of the generations, at 101 years old, followed by Diane, then her daughter Claire Beech, 52, then mother of baby Daisy Rae, Charlotte Beech, 29.

Diane is overjoyed by the birth of her great granddaughter: "I am so excited by the five generations in my family, it is even more exceptional that all generations are women!

"We are all such a close family, with only Brenda living outside of Sedgley.

"It is just extraordinary that there is 101 years between Brenda and Daisy Rae, she keeps looking at how beautiful Daisy Rae is."

Daisy Rae was born two days after Brenda celebrated her 101th birthday on the Feb 25.

Diane added: "We are just so pleased to have a new baby in the family."
