Woman found dead in Dudley Canal

The body of a woman has been found in a canal in Dudley.

The discovery was made at 8.30am this morning in Dudley No 2 Canal in Northfield Road, Netherton.

The area has been cordoned off as officers investigate the scene.

Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing but have not said if they are treating the woman's death as suspicious.

Her identity has not yet been confirmed.

The canal goes under Northfield Road before running up to Bumble Hole Local Nature Reserve.

Further up Northfield Road are Northfield Road Primary School and Netherton Park.
