Police probe as men flee Kingswinford crash scene

Four men are believed to have fled the scene of a crash that left a driver injured in the Black Country.

The crash involved a Vauxhall Insignia and a Mercedes in Kingswinford and happened at around 6.40pm on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Bromley Lane and the A491 where the driver of the Mercedes was treated by paramedics.

Officers are now appealing for information tracking down witnesses and the other men involved in the collision.

Sarah Moran, spokeswoman for West Midlands Police, said: "We are investigating reports of a two-car collision involving a black Vauxhall Insignia and a black Mercedes in Stream Road, Kingswinford at about 6.40pm yesterday (Monday 3 May).

"Officers attended and the driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene where he was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

"We understand that four other men fled the scene and enquiries, including a review of CCTV footage, are under way."

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a two-car road traffic collision at the junction of Bromley Lane and the A491 at 6.42pm yesterday, one ambulance attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one male patient who was treated for a minor injury and discharged at the scene."
