Kewford Eagles Under 7s, based in Eagle Park, Kingswinford, have gone unbeaten in their very first season and they all gathered on Sunday to celebrate in Himley Park.

The season was cut short due to coronavirus but the coach is hoping the players can start again next month if rules allow.

Coach Matt Meredith said: "They're seven kids and they play five-a-side football.

"It's their first season as they're only just old enough.

"They were unbeaten before Covid stopped the games, it was absolutely superb.

"Since we put them together they've really developed, they've got a good bond.

"But then Covid came along and we couldn't play.

"We normally would do an end of season party with a disco but we couldn't do it so we had the presentation at Himley Hall instead.

"Hopefully they can start again in August, but we're waiting to see.

"They're definitely looking forward to starting again, they haven't seen each other since Covid started."
