An area was cornered off near to Bourne Street, Coseley, at 8.30pm on Sunday following the discovery.

Police have now confirmed the man has been identified as 50-year-old Mr Davies, who went missing from a care home in Sandwell. He had not been seen since July 4.

West Midlands Police said a post-mortem examination would be carried out but that Mr Davies' death was not being treated as suspicious.

The force issued an urgent appeal for information following his disappearance. Officers said they were concerned for his welfare as he did not have access to his medication.

Bourne Street runs alongside a large area of open land, where there is a brook.
