Brierley Hill industrial estate units hit by fire

Several units at a Black Country industrial estate have been damaged by a fire.

Firefighters from four stations were called out to reports of a fire at Wallows Road Industrial Estate in Brierley Hill this afternoon.

Four appliances and 20 crew members from Brierley Hill, Dudley, Haden Cross and Stourbridge were at the scene of the fire, arriving at 4.36pm and putting out the fire by 7.54pm.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were alerted to a fire at the Wallows Road Industrial Estate in Brierley Hill at around 4.36pm.

"There were four appliances and 20 crew members there at its height from Brierley Hill, Dudley, Haden Cross and Stourbridge."

"We received word that the fire had been stopped by 7.54pm, with one appliance still there at present and a revisit later in the evening.

"There has been damage done to several units on the industrial estate."

There has been no indication given so far as to what caused the fire to start.
