Black Country's 'most swanted' returned safely to nature reserve

Meet one of the Black Country's 'most swanted' suspects who was seen roaming around the streets of Dudley.

This swan was seen walking around Blewitt Street, in Pensnett, today having journeyed away from his home at Fens Pool Nature Reserve, in Pensnett, Brierley Hill.

West Midlands Police officers attended were the scene were they helped to return the bird safely home.

One officer was seen in a stand-off with the white-feathered creature as a passer-by watched on. The bird was also seen walking on a homeowner's driveway.

It marked a change of regular jobs for the police officers, who compared the incident to the comedy film Hot Fuzz.

A spokesman for the Brierley Hill's police team said: "Team one attended a report of someone swanning around in Blewitt Street, Pensnett.. It wasn’t quite what we were expecting.

"Officers caught the Swanted offender and safely returned him to the Fens Pool Nature Reserve #itsjusttheoneswanactually #hotfuzzpolicing"
