The happy pup, who lives with his owners in Brierley Hill, will be travelling round the country with his family staying in the best pet-friendly holiday properties.

It comes after holiday company Canine Cottages launched a competition to find lovable hounds from 10 UK regions to join the team as top reviewers.

As part of their prize, these four-legged ambassadors are now responsible for testing out and reviewing facilities at some of Canine Cottages’ holiday properties.

More than 50,000 dogs from across the UK applied for one of the 10 regional roles.

A real head-turner, Woody has been described as “a golden boy with a golden heart”, but he has a cheeky side too – his family said he loves jumping in muddy puddles and stealing socks.

Canine Cottages’ PR manager, Jo Price, said: “We had no idea quite how many dogs are currently looking for employment and would have loved to have offered everyone who applied a job.

“The selection process was unbelievably tough, and the calibre of applicants was outstanding.

“However, Woody is a very special pup and we’re very proud that he will be representing our brand for the next year.”
