Man seriously injured after falling from height in Brierley Hill

A man has suffered serious injuries after falling from a height in Dudley.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Vine Street, in Brierley Hill, shortly after 8am this morning.

The Midlands Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene but the man, believed to be in his 70s, was later taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance.

It is not known which building he fell from or the height from which he fell.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.07am to reports of a patient who had fallen in Vine Street, Brierley Hill.

"Crews arrived to find a man who had reportedly fallen from height and had sustained serious injuries. He was given trauma care on scene before being taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

"An ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford and a critical care car from the Midlands Air Ambulance attended."
