Car makes off from three-car Black Country crash

Emergency services were called to a three-car crash in in the Black Country where a car reportedly fled the scene.

The crash happened on Lye Bypass at the junction of Bromley Street in Lye at about 4.45pm on Saturday.

The crash involved three cars but only two were there when fire crews arrived.

Photos from the scene showed major damage to one of the cars involved but only one person needed treatment for minor injuries.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We received a call from the ambulance service at 4.47pm on Saturday 24 October to reports of a three-car road traffic collision on Lye Bypass, at the junction of Bromley Street.

"Two fire engines and 10 firefighters from Haden Cross and Stourbridge attended, with the first engine arriving at the scene in just over four minutes.

"Crews at the scene made the vehicles safe, with no one trapped. Ambulance and police were in attendance."

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 4.41pm to reports of a three-car collision at the junction of High Street and Bromley Street in Stourbridge, two ambulances attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was assessed and treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene."

West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.
