Staff at the hospital and visitors had the chance to support small businesses and charities, as well as snapping up some festive gifts ahead of Christmas.

Dozens of stalls set up outside the main entrance of the hospital on Tuesday – selling items including toiletries and cosmetics, handmade decorations, wax melts, jewellery, clothes and bags.

The Christmas market at Russells Hall Hospital also featured the choir from Woodside Primary School, also based in Dudley, singing carols in the hospital's main reception.

Diane Wake, chief executive of the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust which runs Russells Hall Hospital, said: "The market was a big success and the choir were absolutely wonderful and brought so much joy to people.

“We are now looking to hold a summer fete and an even bigger and better Christmas Market.”
