Driver and passenger unhurt as car flips onto its side in Dudley crash

Two men escaped injury after a car flipped onto its side in Dudley.

The vehicle was involved in a crash after it came off the Castle Gate Island at around 11.45pm on Friday night.

Photos posted on social media from the scene – near to the town's Premier Inn hotel – showed the wreckage of the car on its side on the pavement on Birmingham Road.

West Midlands Fire Service, West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were all in attendance.

The two men in the car escaped the crash without injury and had managed to free themselves from the car before crews arrived at the scene.

Firefighters from Dudley fire station made the scene safe.

A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said: "Luckily two men who were in the car, were uninjured and had self extricated before emergency service attendance."

A West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed that there had been no arrests.
