Drink drive arrest after car overturns in Dudley crash

A car flipped onto its roof in a dramatic crash in Dudley.

Parked cars and a garden wall were damaged after two cars collided on Bunns Lane in Dudley.

Police had to cordon off the road just before 10am on Sunday after the crash, where the silver car overturned.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after initially fleeing the scene.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Police received a 999 call at 9.50am on Sunday August 11, reporting a collision in Bunns Lane, Dudley in which a car flipped into its roof, damaging other parked cars and a wall.

“The driver of the car ran off from the scene.

“A description of the man was passed to police officers and at around 10.30am a man was arrested in Castlegate Way, Dudley.

“The 24-year-old - a Lithuanian national living in Oldbury - was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

"He has now been released pending further investigation."
