Hundreds of foodies flock to street food market at Merry Hill's The Waterfront

Street food favourites brought their range of creations to the centre, as well as live music and entertainment, on Friday.

The free event, which took place between 4pm and 9pm, marks the first time intu Merry Hill has worked with Stourbridge-based Street Food Affair, who regularly organise food fairs at the Bonded Warehouse.

Sarah New, from Street Food Affair, said about 400 people had turned up to the free event.

She added: "We had about 12 food stands and about 400 people came.

"We did really well with the weather it didn't start raining until later on, but even then it was really busy.

"We had burger stalls, a gin bar with all different flavours, noodles, vegan sausages and more.

"This is the first time we've held this event, it's gone really well.

"We've had a mix of people come along, families, people just finishing work and even a group dressed up as the Peaky Blinders.

"We are planning for this to be a regular event but we don't know when it'll next be held yet.

"The stall holders have seemed really happy, it's been really busy and the gin bar sold out of gin, they had to go and get some more!"
