Former Dudley school to be sold at auction

A former secondary school in Dudley with permission for conversion to 21 flats is going under the hammer at a property auction.

The Claughton Centre in Dudley

The old Sir Gilbert Claughton School in Blowers Green Road has a guide price of £200,000 in the SDL Auctions Bigwood sale at Villa Park on May 23.

The building, which closed as a school in 1990, has most recently been used as offices, It is now known as the Claughton Centre and is on a site of around 0.87 acres.

The Chester Tavern

Also being sold is The Chester Tavern, in Chester Road North, Kidderminster.The three-storey pub has a guide price of £110,000 and the potential for conversion to a mixed-use or other development, subject to planning permission. .

The workshops at Sneyd Wharf

Another interesting lot is made up of a series of canalside workshops. Sneyd Wharf, Sneyd Lane, Bloxwich, has a guide of £55,000. The range of single-storey brick workshops and stores are next to the Wyrley and Essington Canal. They are being sold subject to the existing tenancy, which currently produces rental income of £5,550 per year.
