A small group of around five caravans, along with cars and vans have been seen on the site near to Constitution Hill.

Dudley Council has said the encampment had originally parked on an unnamed green space but that they were directed to their current site by the council.

Alan Lunt, strategic director for place and deputy chief executive, said the travellers have agreed to moving on after a "short stay".

He said: “We are aware of a small encampment of five caravans that are currently located on a disused car park near to Constitution Hill.

“The encampment was directed to this site as a temporary measure from a green space in order to prevent damage and disruption.

“The travellers have committed to moving on following a short stay, and the council will ensure that the legal powers are in place to move them on should they not do so as promised.”
