Man in his 60s taken to hospital after Hagley crash

A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital after a car crash in Hagley this morning.

The crash took place on the A491 Hagley Road, with its junction of Cherrington Gardens

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the A491 Hagley Road, with its junction of Cherrington Gardens, at around 7.50am on Tuesday.

It is believed the car, a Volvo Estate, had collided with the central reservation on the busy route.

The man was helped out of the car by bystanders, before being taken to Russells Hall Hospital, in Dudley.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 7.52am to the junction of Cherrington Gardens and the A491, Hagley Road.

"The caller said that a Volvo estate had collided with the central reservation.

"The driver, the only occupant, was a man in his 60s. He was helped out of the car by bystanders.

"After being assessed at the scene, the man was taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment."

One ambulance was sent to the scene of the crash.
