Up to 30 caravans are on Woodside Park near Netherton on Tuesday afternoon.

The camp has been there since August 10 says a ward councillor and has caused tensions to rise.

Bags of rubbish can be seen next to the site – which has been set up next to a children's playground.

Christine Perks, ward councillor for Netherton, Woodside and St. Andrews, said: "We have had to wait for the court, they [the travellers] have already been there now since August 10.

"They left some rubbish and they put some rubbish in bags. It is disgusting.

"We'll have them off soon, it is just annoying for everybody, it is so frustrating for the residents. Residents are really angry about it."

Dudley Council has confirmed it is aware of the camp and will be in court on Wednesday to get an injunction in order to move the group on.

It comes as at the end of last month more than 15 caravans had pitched up on Grange Park, on Grange Road, Dudley.

The camp remained at the beauty spot for a total of 10 days before moving on – with Dudley Council also having worked at the time to secure an injunction.

The authority is currently working to set up a temporary travellers transit site in Budden Road, Coseley.
