Travellers have set up camp near Dudley Council’s Lister Road depot.

Residents aired concerns to ward councillor Steve Waltho, who said: “I know residents are concerned and several have contacted us.

“We are told by the council these are one of the better behaved groups but that really is no consolation.

"We were informed the necessary action had been taken. I believe there is a dozen to 15 caravans.

“The irritation is the last time this happened, last year, we had an invasion on that area.

"We think hopefully the borough will be relieved when the travellers site is set up. We can understand residents concerns.

"What really annoys me is they are trespassing all through public open space."

The council was ‘made aware’ of the latest encampment on Sunday.

Earlier this month, protesters took the steps of the council house over proposals to see a temporary travellers transit site opened in Budden Road, Coseley.

Members of the 'Coseley Focus' group stood in protest outside of the building and presented councillors with a petition signed by nearly 1,000 people opposing the plans.
