M6 crash causes six miles of delays

Traffic on the M6 is at a standstill following a collision.

It has caused six miles of congestion, backing up towards junction 7 of the M6 Southbound in Great Barr.

Motorists between junction 6 on the M6 Southbound at Spaghetti Junction, to junction 5 at Castle Bromwich have been temporarily stopped due to the accident.

Highways England has urged drivers travelling on the motorway near Birmingham to be aware of the long delays due to the crash and plan ahead before travelling through the area this evening.

Delays of at least 30 to 45 minutes are expected.
