Five people injured as car hits tree in Birmingham

Five people were treated by paramedics after a crash involving a car and a tree in the West Midlands.

The car reportedly smashed into a tree in Park Lane, in Handsworth, at around 9.45pm last night.

Three paramedic officers, four ambulances and HART paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find five occupants from the car requiring treatment.

“Two men received treatment on scene from ambulance staff – one suffered more serious injuries than the other. They were both conveyed to Sandwell Hospital for further treatment.

"A third man and two women from the vehicle were also assessed by ambulance staff and were found to have suffered varying injuries.

"Each patient was given treatment on scene before they were all taken to City Hospital for further checks.”
