PICTURES: Cars end piggy backing after Hagley Road crash

Dramatic photos show how one car ended up on top of another car after a crash in the West Midlands.

The unusual collision happened in Hagley Road, Birmingham, shortly after 1pm this afternoon.

Photos from the scene show how a black Nissan Qashqai ended up on top of the bonnet of a red VW Golf.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.

One woman was taken to hospital for further treatment, but her injuries were not believed to be serious.

West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service were all called to the scene in Hagley Road.

Drivers were urged to avoid Hagley Road, near the city centre, as the road was closed following the collision.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by police at 1:07pm to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on Hagley Road. We sent one ambulance to the scene.

"We have treated one patient, a woman, who was the driver of one of the cars, for injuries not believed to be serious.

"She’s been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were called to a three-car collision in Hagley Road, Edgbaston, just after 1pm today.

"No one has been seriously injured."
